India has given a strong showing against New Zealand in the third T20 International, in the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. It took the Men in Blue only 10 overs to run down a target of 154 runs and win the match by eight wickets thus clinching the five match series 3-0 with two aspects to go.
Black caps were requested to begin the batting but failed to form partnerships to get big scores and ended with 153/9. The highest scorer with 48 runs was New Zealand captain Glenn Phillips, and the other members of their batting line were not able to contribute sufficient runs to fight the vigorous India and their chase.

The show was dominated by Abhishek Sharma who scored a sensational unbeaten 68 runs on 20 balls including a tremendous boundary and massive sixes. One of his fastest half-centuries as an Indian batter was made in the shortest time possible of 14 balls, just short of the record of the T20I by Yuvraj Singh.
Suryakumar Yadav too contributed significantly and was not out at 57 scoring 57 off 26 balls, keeping up with Sharma in the chase. The two played a 102-run partnership and had 60 balls to spare at the end of the game.
Jasprit Bumrah was the main lead bowler in the bowling department who took 3 wickets with a cost of 17 runs, and Ravi Bishnoi also bowled 2 wickets, which kept the New Zealand batters on their toes during their innings.
